About Us

Let's know more about ZhuWei High School

Back in 1996, Jhuwei Junior High School was established to serve local needs, nourishing students in the Tamsui District. In 2012, we were renamed New Taipei Municipal ZhuWei High School and became a complete high school; that is, we started to have our own senior high school division. For over fifteen years, we have been devoting ourselves to a better education that cultivates our students.

Standing out as the sole public high school in the neighborhood, ZWHS holds “Truth,” “Goodness,” “Beauty,” and “Innovation” as our educational principles. In addition, our dedicated faculty aim to offer a student-centered and holistic education.

Sitting in the coastal Tamsui area, ZWHS boasts splendid views of both the mountain and the river. On our 4.6-hectare campus, we make the best use of our resources and facilities. Under the guidance of our current principal, Wu Zong-min, ZWHS seeks to reach prominence with our students.

Tribute to WHD 2013

    Great thanks to our host, Mrs. Irina Knyazkova from Gymnasium #26, Russia!  She proposed this event, and thus encouraged schools around the globe to celebrate this meaning day.  Countries involved in this event include Russia, Pakistan, UFA, Ukraine, Romania, Indonesia, Sierra Leone, Belorussia, and, of course, Taiwan.

    After each of the participant schools presented our works, Mrs. Knyazkova offered another amazing gift—a video that wraps up blessing and greeting around the world!  Let’s watch it!

Hello to the World

    As you can see in the previous article, ZWHS members celebrate 2013 World Hello Day with our pictures.  Those pictures look amazing, don’t they? But we don’t stop there. There are other ways to greet the world.

    Thus we present this short video, in which ZWHS students say hello in various languages, followed by a short introduction of the World Hello Day. We highly encourage everyone to watch it, share it, and say hello to people around you!

Have you heard of World Hello Day?  It’s on November 21, 2013. On this day, people around the world say hello to each other.  By doing so, we can bring more peace to the world!

    ZhuWei High School celebrates this special event with schools in Russia, Ukraine, Indonesia, and Romania via iEARN (International Education and Resource Network). Participants say hello to the world in the ways they like, and share the work with each other.

    As it turned out, ZWHS members again present amazing works. Let’s look at the first picture.

英雄專案(5)：扶搖上雲端

竹圍高中的好孩子們，我們的英雄專案只剩最後兩項作業囉。想必你們正為了第三次段考以及許多作業在奮鬥吧？先幫你們拍拍手。

各組在心智圖上面都已經有了基本的文章架構，接著就請努力將架構填上血肉，成為一篇文章吧。記得喔，圖文並茂，並且註明參考資料出處。更重要的是，嚴禁抄襲！此外，因為響應環保以及雲端教學，本次部分作業是繳交到雲端dropbox。

英雄專案(4)：誰是英雄

看完自己評選出來的英雄特質後，有沒有「見賢思齊」的想法呢？其實好像某些特質就存在你我心中，只是需要培養，然後就能在適當的時機下加以發揮。

接下來的是小組作業囉。每一組需要針對一位英雄進行深入介紹及報告。產出的作品格式為心智圖、英文文章、以及投影片報告。別急，相關細節規定會在之後說明。

看到現在，想必各位一定想知道自己小組負責的英雄是那位吧？第二個作業就是要決定誰是英雄！在下面的作業網址中，老師已經列出了三類英雄：突破限制、社會關懷、偉大影響。每類都有 好幾位人選。

英雄專案(3)：特質統計

恭喜各位完成了第一階段的個人作業：英雄特質。讓我們透過文字雲的統計能力，看看各位同學們認為的英雄具備了哪些特質。來看看四個班對於英雄有哪些形容詞，字越大的出現次數越多！

在忠班的「英雄雲」當中，很明顯最常出現的是courageous、brave、powerful、strong、determined等字眼。英雄的確應該勇敢、有力（身體或心靈）、還有意志堅定。

孝班的英雄四葉草裡，除了courageous及powerful大量出現之外，神奇的出現了smart、persist、lonely、kind等比較不一樣的描述。看來的確人人看法不同。（順便提一下，persist其實是動詞…）

英雄專案(2)：英雄特質

這次我們結合了生命大事記、未來信、以及英雄研究三個活動，來協助同學們回顧過去、規劃未來、並且樹立學習模範。然而，在決定我們要研究哪些英雄之前，我們要先找出英雄的特質。

英雄百百款，我們課堂上提過的陳世峰、力克胡哲、鋼鐵人、翁山蘇姬都算是英雄。想必你們各自也有心目中的英雄形貌。因此，第一個個人作業就是「請找出三個英文的形容詞，描述你心目中的英雄」。請透過底下的連結，在表單中填下三個符合英雄的形容詞吧！

英雄專案  正式展開

iSeed: Hero Project--Edmodo

竹圍高中的同學們，繼卡片交流之後，這學期的國際教育專案又要開跑囉。這次我們要進行的是全新的英雄專案，而且就如同上學期的卡片專案一樣，這次也是跨科進行。

這次的英雄專案，更強調各位同學的回饋與操作，因此會採用線上工具來完成部分作業。為了使消息發佈更加迅速，首先請大家註冊教育平台Edmodo。

沒聽過Edmono嗎？簡單來說，它是長得很像Facebook的教育專用社群網站，國內外多所大學及高中都在使用。所以同學們不必學新的操作方式，因為就跟用臉書一樣。此外，因為是教育專用，所以各位的資料絕對不外漏！

PBL Presentation (1): Strategy

Think twice before you leap. Three times? Even better.

    With great joy and efforts, we finished our first Holiday Card Exchange program last semester. Yes, and we also had a wonderful wrap-up presentation in our school.

    Yet, this is not enough.

Popular as it is, Holiday Card Exchange deserves more promotion. And here comes to opportunity: iEARN Taiwan is to host a 2013 International Education and PBL Presentation on April 27. Each participant school has 6 minutes to share with other iEARN members what they did in the previous year, plus a 2-minute Q&A. This is awesome! Let’s do it.
